刘心元,南方科技大学讲席教授,化学系主任,国家自然科学杰出青年基金获得者,国自然优秀青年基金获得者,入选教育部特聘教授(青年)。1979年1月出生安徽安庆。2001年毕业于安徽师范大学化学系,获理学学士学位;2004年毕业于安徽师范大学化学系和上海有机所(联合培养),获理学硕士学位(导师:朱仕正研究员和王绍武教授);2010年毕业于香港大学化学系,获哲学博士学位(导师:支志明院士);2010-2012年香港大学和美国Scripps研究所博士后(导师:支志明院士和Carlos F. Barbas III教授);2012年9月入职南方科技大学化学系,任副教授、课题组长; 2018年1月晋升为南方科技大学终身正教授;2022年11月晋升为讲席教授。刘心元团队自从南科大开展独立工作以来,围绕“不对称自由基催化化学”这一科学难题开展了深入系统的研究,提出了独具特色的“手性阴离子-金属单电子催化剂”新策略,开发了简单化工原料参与的不对称自由基催化反应,解决了高活性自由基手性控制难题,并拓展了其在资源分子高效利用和手性药物合成中的应用示范研究。以通讯作者身份在Nat.
