On December 12, Forum on Intellectual Property Securitization and Scientific and Technological Achievements Transformation of Xili Lake International Science and Education Town, as one of the academic activities in celebration of SUSTech’s 10th anniversary, was held on campus.
The Forum embraced over 200 attendees, including SUSTech President Qikun XUE, Governor of Nanshan District Xiangyue HUANG, other senior leaders of Nanshan District government, entrepreneurs, SUSTech students and faculty.
President XUE delivered a speech at the forum. He said that the securitization of intellectual property rights is an important exploration for Shenzhen to build a leading demonstration zone of socialism with Chinese characteristics and to implement a pilot project of comprehensive reform. In this process, universities and research institutes should play a big role. As a member of Xili Lake International Science and Education Town, SUSTech will give full play to the advantages of disciplines, scientific research, and talent introduction and cultivation, and jointly build the science and education city into the core power source of innovation-driven development in the Greater Bay Area.
Cong LIAN said that Nanshan District would cooperate with Shenzhen High-tech Investment Group to explore and provide intellectual property pledge special support for start-ups incubated by universities and scientific research institutions and enrich financing channels.
Well-known entrepreneurs also shared their opinions on the securitization of intellectual property rights and the development of Xili Lake International Science and Education Town with the attendees.
The event was held to carve a channel for the integration of scientific and technological achievements and fund of universities and scientific research institutions in Xili Lake International Science and Education Town, explore the practice of intellectual property securitization, promote the establishment of a new platform for the transfer and transformation of scientific and technological achievements, promote the collaborative innovation of the whole chain of government, industry, university, and research, and create an international, professional and sustainable innovation ecology system. In the process, SUSTech can also play a greater role.
