KYAW, Aung Ko Ko

Aung Ko Ko Kyaw joined the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the Southern University of Science and Technology as an Associate Professor in August 2017. He received both B.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 2007 and 2012, respectively. After that, he worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the laboratory of Nobel Laureate Prof. Alan Heeger at the University of California, Santa Barbara, a visiting scholar at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research, Germany, and a Scientist at the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering of A*STAR, Singapore, before joining SUSTech. He has published 130 journal papers and 4 book chapters and applied for 18 patents. He has an H-index of 43 and citations over 8800 times. He is an Associate Editor of Frontiers in Electronic Materials and Topic Editor of Photonics. He is recognized as one of the World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University and the Best Electronics and Electrical Engineering Scientists in China by Research.com. He also received international awards such as the Distinguished Lectureship Award from the Chemical Society of Japan, Green Talents from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, and the IAAM medal.

Publications

Dr. Kyaw has published 130 papers in well-regarded journals such as Nature Communications, Energy Environ. Sci., Adv. Mater., Adv. Energy Mater., Adv. Funct. Mater., ACS Nano, Nano Energy, Nano Lett., and 4 conference papers.  His publications cover a wide range of topics, from organic/perovskite solar cells and photodetectors to thermoelectric devices and ambipolar transistors. Many of his papers were selected as cover pages of prestigious journals. He also authored/co-authored 4 book chapters and applied for 18 patents. He has a track record as an invited, plenary, and keynote speaker at international conferences, with over 30 talks delivered.
