Dr. Boyuan Huang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Southern University of Science and Technology. He got his Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Nanjing University in 2016. He graduated from the University of Washington with a doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2020 and won Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-Financed Students Abroad.
Dr. Huang’s research focus on developing advanced data-driven atomic force microscopy (AFM) methods to study multi-field coupling mechanisms of materials at the nanoscale. He developed high-throughput sequential excitation method, which was selected as R&D 100 Awards Finalist and applied to National Major Scientific Research Instrument Development Projects. He also developed pioneering artificial intelligence atomic force microscope (AI-AFM), which caught MIT Technology Review’s attention. He has published papers in prestigious scientific journals including National Science Review, Advanced Materials, and Journal of the Mechanics and Physics of Solids.
