Dr. Ren is an Associate Professor in Department of Earth and Space Sciences, Southern University of Science and Technology. He earned a bachelor’s degree (2003) and a Ph.D. (2009) in Geophysics at Peking University. Later, he successively served as a postdoctor and an associate researcher in University of Science and Technology of China. He joined SUSTech in 2016. He became a committee member of Professional Committee on Seismoelectromagnetism, Seismological Society of China in 2017 and won the Liu Guangding Geophysical Youth Science and Technology Award in 2019. His research interests include the earthquake-related electromagnetic phenomena and potential applications of seismoelectric effect in exploration of subsurface fluid. So far, he has hosted 6 scientific research funds, published more than 10 journal articles as first/corresponding author, contributed 2 chapters to AGU’s monograph on seismoelectric exploration, and served as a reviewer of academic journals including JGR-Solid Earth, GJI, Solid Earth, and so on.
