Dr. Huanshu Tan (谭唤书) joined the Southern University of Science and Technology as an assistant professor in December 2020. He works in the SUSTech Center for Complex Flows and Soft Matter Research and the Department of Mechanics and Aerospace Engineering. Huanshu studied for his bachelor degree (2011) at the Chongqing Jiaotong University and went on to study for a master degree (2014) at the Shanghai Institute of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, Shanghai University. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in August 2018 from the Physics of Fluids Group at the University of Twente in the Netherlands. From 2018 to 2020, he worked as a postdoc researcher in the Squires' Group of the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of California, Santa Barbara, in the USA. He has published several scientific papers as the first/corresponding author in top world journals like Nature Communications, PNAS, JFM, etc. His current research interest lies in mass transport, phase separation, interfacial flow, and colloidal migration in multicomponent fluid systems.
