Dr. Tianyu Zheng joined the Shenzhen Grubbs Institute in March 2026 as an Associate Professor. He received the bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from China Pharmaceutical University in 2016. In 2020, he obtained his Ph.D. degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong under the supervision of Professor Ying-Yeung Yeung, focusing on asymmetric halogenation reactions. From September 2021 to January 2026, he conducted postdoctoral research at the Max Planck Institute for Coal Research, working with Professor Benjamin List, the 2021 Nobel Prize laureate in Chemistry. His postdoctoral research focused on asymmetric higher-order cycloadditions and carbohydrate chemistry, and he discovered  the non-covalent organic framework (NCOF) catalysis.
