Dr. Dikun Yang received B.Sc. in geophysics (2005) and M.A.Sc. in geological resource and engineering (2008) from China University of Geosciences (Wuhan). He joined Geophysical Inversion Facility at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in 2009 and received Ph.D. in geophysics in 2014. Then he was a postdoctoral research fellow at UBC and Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, Columbia University. He also had some part-time appointments, including an industrial consultant and an undergraduate instructor at UBC. Dr. Yang has extensive experience in the research of geophysical electromagnetic (EM) methods and their applications. His interests include 3D EM numerical simulation and imaging, as well as the application of EM in geological mapping, resource exploration, groundwater and engineering. He has published high-impact original research articles in journals like Geophysics, Geophysical Journal International, Geophysical Prospecting, etc. He also acts as the reviewers for a number of top geophysical journals. Dr. Yang was a recipient of NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship from Canada in 2017.
