Basic Introduction:

Dr. Tian Zhan received his Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences in July 2006. He is currently a tenured associate professor (researcher) and doctoral supervisor of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering/Institute of Risk Analysis, Prediction and Control, School of Environmental Science and Engineering, School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Southern University of Science and Technology, project leader of the National Key R&D Program, senior visiting scholar of the International Center for Theoretical Physics, and doctoral supervisor of Pengcheng National Laboratory. At present, he is mainly engaged in research on climate change risk assessment and response. He has presided over 28 scientific research projects, 1 national key research and development plan project, 2 tasks, 7 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (1 high-intensity international and regional cooperative research, 1 key project, 2 general projects, 1 youth project, 2 international cooperation and exchanges), 2 China Prosperity Fund of the United Kingdom Foreign Office, and 3 Newton Fund of the United Kingdom; He has published 80 academic papers in authoritative journals such as Nature Water, PNAS Nexus, Water Research, Climate Dynamics, and Science Bulletin, 52 papers have been included in SCI (including 39 as the first author and corresponding author, 26 in JCR Zone 1, and 17 in Zone 2), co-published 7 books, and presided over the preparation of 11 government decision-making service reports (5 of which were approved by national, provincial and ministerial leaders); He is currently the vice chairman of the Youth Working Committee of the Chinese Society of Natural Resources, the director of the Beijing Ecological Restoration Society, and the member of the Geographic Model and Geographic Information Analysis Professional Committee of the Geographical Society of China. He has won the Distinguished International Associate of the Royal Academy of Engineering of United Kingdom, Shenzhen High-level Professional (Reserve Level), the 8th China Technology Market Golden Bridge Award, the second prize of the 2023 Zhejiang Construction Science and Technology Award (ranked 10th), the first prize of the Zhejiang Ecological Environment Science and Technology Award (ranked 4th), the first prize of the Henan Provincial Science and Technology Achievement Award (ranked 7th), and the first prize of the Dayu Water Conservancy Science Progress Award (ranked 3rd). Third Prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award (ranked 3rd), ICTP Associate, START Fellow, Shanghai "Eleventh Five-Year" Advanced Individual in Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction, Shanghai Municipal Organ Youth Post Expert, Shanghai Outstanding "Youth Commando" Captain and other personal titles.
