元宇宙的概念起源于史蒂文森1992年发表的科幻小说《雪崩》，却在2021年随着游戏平台Roblox的上市，突然成为席卷全球的热点议题。全球最大的社交媒体平台Facebook甚至也随之改名为Meta。然而，这个出身于小说，爆红于游戏的新概念却让世人雾里看花，褒贬不一。究竟应该如何理解元宇宙？文化产业作为元宇宙的最早发轫之地，正在诞生哪些新业态、新趋势与新模式？而这一切衍生出来的崭新的时代文化症候又将如何影响我们的未来？

Abstract:

The Concept of Metaverse originated in Stephenson’s science fiction Snow Crash, which was first published in 1992 and suddenly became a worldwide hot topic in 2021, with the IPO of a game platform Roblox. Even Facebook, the world biggest social media mega announced a strategically name-changing to Meta. However, this totally new concept has too much close connection with fiction and game, which makes it very suspicious to the mass. So, how to understand metaverse? Is it real or not? As cultural industries were so deeply weaved into the concept of metaverse, what kinds of new cultural industries development in business models and trends are operated and experimented? And with all these new culture symptoms, how our future is being shaped? This lecture tries to give some discussion around those interesting and influential questions.
